John and Dave’s Quiz Night and Harvest Supper – Saturday 5th October 2024

Thanks to everybody who attended – and congratulations to our 2024 quiz winners “Where are the chips”.£110 was raised for church funds. Thanks to 78th Leicester (Thurmaston) Scout Group for allowing us to use Scout & Guide HQ.

Service of Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Celebration of Ministry – Sunday 8th September 2024

Our congratulations, best wishes, and prayers, for Elizabeth, confirmed by Bishop Saju Muthalaly, Bishop of Loughborough; and for Sam Bone, authorised by Bishop Saju as a Locally Authorised Minister at St Michael & All Angels, Thurmaston. During the service, the Churchwardens read the names of 30+ visiting clergy and lay ministers who have led worship and preached during our current vacancy. Bishop Saju prayed for all ministers, and for the mission and ministry of St Michael & All Angels, Thurmaston. After the service, the congregation enjoyed tea / coffee – and cake! New charity for Thurmaston Old School – 2 July 2018

On 2 July 2018, the ownership and management of Thurmaston Old School transferred to a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) – Thurmaston Old School Community Centre CIO. The first trustees are pictured below.

Quiet Day – 30 September 2017

A quiet day was held on 30 September 2017, led by the Rev Ian Hill. The group studied the Parable of the Sower, and made a collage (photo below) out of seeds as an aid to prayer.
